4 months old.

I'm a little behind on this post, but Tyler turned 4 months old on Friday, February 26.  I'm continually amazed at how much he grows each month and how much he changes.  Here's a little bit of what Tyler has done this past month.
  • Tyler weighed 13lb. 6oz. and measured 24.5 inches at his 4 month old doctor's appointment on the 26th.  This month he has primarily been wearing 3-6 month clothes, but just last week outgrew the last 0-3 month outfits.
  • Tyler is still a really good sleeper.  We are somewhat on a routine though it is hard during the day because we are running around with the girls so much.  But at night, Tyler will go to bed between 6:00 and 7:00.  He usually wakes up sometime between 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning to eat and will then go back down until between 6:00 and 7:00.  Most mornings he is only up for at most an hour and then wants to take a quick nap.  Tyler usually naps 3-4 times each day for a hour each time.  Usually he is up for at most 2 hours and then naps 1 hour.
  • Tyler is smiling and giggling all the time lately.  He's even trying to "talk" to us at times.  When we say 'Hi' to him, it almost sounds like he is trying to say 'Hi' back.
  • Since Tyler does not care for tummy time, the pediatrician recommended putting him in the Exersaucer.  We tried it for the first time last week and he loved it.  Ironically he has been doing better on his tummy too, though he figured out how to roll over from his tummy to his back on February 25th.  So tummy time is brief because he's quickly on his back again.
  • When Tyler is really tired, he will take his pacifier.  Most other times he simply spits it right back out and looks for his thumb.  It will be interesting to see which wins out over the next few months.
  • It has been fun over this last month to watch Tyler reach and grab for things, whether it is the toys hanging on his bouncy seat, the toys hanging on his Einstein play mat, or even playing with his hands.  What is not so fun is his great interest in grabbing my hair lately. . . hence why my hair has been in a pony tail a lot.  Grace has even learned the hard way not to get so close to Tyler because he has gotten a good hold on her hair at times.
Here's Tyler in the 12 month Gerber onesie at 4 months.  Considering Tyler's weight is around the 25th percentile, maybe the label on this onesie is inaccurate because I highly doubt he is going to fit in it at 1 year :)

And for comparison, his onesie picture at 3 months.

  1. I love these updates! The onesie is a great idea. I have a friend who did a series of pictures with a particular stuffed animal. :)
