Cupcake

Our neighbor Lainey's 4th birthday was today!  The girls played with her for a little while after school and scored a yummy cupcake from Lainey's grandmother!  Claire clearly enjoyed her after dinner treat!

Loose tooth

While Grace was eating breakfast this morning, she said, "Mommy, my tooth hurts when I eat!"  Sure enough, Grace has her first loose tooth!  Needlesstosay, she is soooo excited and told everyone she saw today about her loose tooth.  So when she came home from school, I told Grace we should get a picture of all of her baby teeth. . . she proudly gave me a toothy grin!  Hard to believe the tooth fairy will be making us a visit sometime in the near future. . . my little girl is growing up too fast!

Cool girl

Enjoying a lazy Sunday while Daddy is working.  So Grace decided she'd don her shades and beads while watching a little TV.

Green beans

I cooked green beans tonight for the kids.  The last time I made them, no one touched them.  Tonight, however, Grace actually decided she liked the green beans and ate them quickly.  Claire, on the other hand, had to pick at each one and made funny faces as she ate them.  One time she even gagged!

Softball practice

Grace had softball practice tonight.  Since Mike had a late meeting, that meant I got to take all three kids with me.  Tyler was all over the place as usual, but thankfully my sweet neighbor Tina tried to help keep him occupied by letting him play with her Droid.  And Claire, with her unique attire, made a new friend.

Shoes

Tyler disappeared into the laundry room this morning.  He usually sneaks in there and plays with the filter door on the washing machine, but today he found Mike's shoes on the shelf.  I think he spent about 5 minutes trying to get them on his feet.

Dentist

The last time the girls saw the dentist was December, but Claire showed us tonight that the visit is still clear in her mind.  While Grace was reading to me before bedtime, Mike was lying on the floor playing with Claire.  Claire decided that Daddy needed to visit the dentist.  So just like the pediatric dentist office, Claire found glasses for Mike to wear, used her pig blanket as the "bib," and then started examining Mike's teeth with her finger.

Favorite Toy

When we drop off Claire at preschool in the morning, Tyler always squirms for me to put him down so he can run into Claire's classroom and start playing.  And everytime, he always goes for the same toy. . . the Fisher-Price yellow school bus.  Today, I finally brought our school bus downstairs from the playroom.  I think Tyler played with it all morning and constantly had a big grin on his face while doing so!

Table

For about 15 minutes today, Tyler entertained himself by throwing a ball all around our kitchen table.  He spent most of the time going in and out from under the table, but decided at one point that he needed a short break to catch his breath!

Again

One day soon the little man will be able to hold his own outside with the girls!

Just wait

Tyler may be crying now because Claire is not sharing with him.  But as my mom always reminded me when I was not nice to my little brother, "Just wait, one day he will be bigger than you!"

Zoo

We were invited to the zoo today to celebrate our neighbor, Emma's 3rd birthday!  It was a beautiful day and all the kids had a great time!

Ouch!

I am really not that cruel of a mom.  I just happened to be taking pictures of Tyler when he got his finger caught in the door.  His finger was saved within seconds of snapping this one!

Rudolph

Tyler earned his new nickname yesterday when he rolled over a big ball and fell head first onto the road.  No doubt, the first of many tumbles.

Whiskers

Grace's class celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday today.  The school cafeteria even served green eggs and ham. . . Grace is not too picky of an eater, but even she was glad she brought her lunch today :)  She did, however, love the whiskers that her teacher drew on her and all of her classmates' faces!

Daddy's shadow

Mike has one afternoon off each week.  Even though he may be home, he always seems to be doing work.  And Claire is always right by his side (or as in this case, on his back)!

Bangs

For the last year, we have tried to grow out Grace's bangs multiple times.  And always after a few weeks, we ended up cutting them.  Right before Christmas, we decided to try again and this time it has actually stuck.  It's probably been about 2 1/2 months since we last cut Grace's bangs, and she has surprisingly done quite well keeping her hair out her face.  As of today, her bangs now reach the tip of her nose, so we're slowly but surely getting there.
